PROFESSIONAL DO IT YOURSELF ROACH CONTROL SOLUTIONS
GERMAN COCKROACHES are the most common cockroach species in houses, restaurants, hotels and other dwellings in the USA. This domestic roach usually brought in by a grocery bag, clothing or on items when moving can be one of the most troublesome pest one can encounter. One female could possibly produce up to 35,000 offspring in one year. They usually nest in wall voids, cracks and crevices for they prefer dark places. They can feed practically on anything such as glues, wallpaper paste, and any starchy substances. This roach very commonly can cause a severe infestation if not treated properly. Sprays very seldom control these roaches. The best advice is to never use sprays for you can just upset them and waste money too.
The most important key in control of these roaches is sanitation. Before any
management program is put in place make sure all food products including crumbs,
dried liquid, and anything that could be edible is gone and all surfaces clean.
Then the best solution is to bait them with a product called Maxforce
gel. It is also recommended if the problem is severe to use
fine granular bait such as Niban
FG underneath appliances and in wall voids. These two products in
most cases will eliminate the problems with careful follow ups. Follow these
links to learn more about these products and how to order them.
The best treatment strategy is a good outside barrier with coarse granular bait such as Triad/Niban. This is applied around the perimeter of the outside. This product can be used in the attic as well. If the situation is severe a good application of Talstar One may be in order before baiting. If the problem is mainly indoors then an application of Maxforce gel may be in order.
SMOKY BROWN COCKROACHES are closely related to the American cockroach as described above but are distinguished by their slightly smaller size (about one inch long) and uniform Mahogany brown color. This is a common roach mainly in the south. They can be found throughout the outside area but can forge inside easily from several ways.
The best treatment strategy would be a good outside barrier of Triad/Niban bait. If the problem is inside the home it is also recommended you apply Maxforce gel as prescribed to inside areas. If the problem is severe then spraying with Talstar One may be recommended before baiting.
ORIENTAL ROACHES
are also sometimes referred to by some as the water bug. They are found throughout the whole USA. The total length of this roach can be 1.25 inches. They have wings but can not fly. The adults are very dark brown or nearly black. They can be found in Yards, beneath leaves, dumps, crawl spaces, and in the mulch of flower beds and are also common in high moisture areas. They are sluggish and are usually found at or below ground level indoors. These roaches are known to forge indoors during periods of drought or as cold weather approaches. If the problem is outdoors first a clear and clean outside is step one in roach control. We recommend a good granular such as Triad or Niban around the perimeter of the home. If they are forging indoors apply Maxforce gel as prescribed. If the condition is severe contact us.
BROWN BANDIT ROACHES looks similar to the German roach. They can be distinguished however by the presence of two lighter bands running across one side to the other of the base of the wings and abdomen. The adult males can fly in these species. Also they have been known to jump when disturbed. These roaches differ in the way they do not require a close association with moisture sources as the German roach. Therefore they are seen more often throughout the home rather than kitchens and bathrooms mostly. Since these are domestic roaches be careful about bringing them in food, furniture, and other items carried in the home.
To treat for Brown bandits if the case is severe a good crack and crevice treatment of Demon WP may be in order. A general dusting in the walls and other out of the way places also can be done. Email us about Delta dust if you desire this method. We also recommend a good application of Niban FG granular bait applied in the walls as prescribed.
ASIAN ROACHES are most common in south Flordia. They are similar to the German roach but are different in behavior. They prefer to infest shaded and moist areas in the landscape, grassy areas and ground covers. and typically become most active just at dusk. Adults will fly quite readily and for long distances. They also are known to fly to lights at night. and known to fly indoors into TV screens, people, and patio events.
For control it is recommended you rake and remove leaf litter and other conditions which provide harborage to these roaches in the landscape. Bright lights should be eliminated with possible yellow lights. Exclusion techniques such as caulking, weather stripping, sealing of weep holes, etc. We recommend baiting in the mulch with Niban FG. If indoor control is needed then bait indoors with Maxforce gel and Niban FG in wall voids and in cracks and crevices.
AUSTRALIAN COCKROACHES is similar in appearance to the American roach but may be slightly smaller and is distinguished by prominent yellow strips along the outer front edge of either wing and a dark spot in the center of the pronotum (head). The nymphs (young) are marked with distinct splotches of yellow on the dorsal side of the thorax and abdomen. They can be found under loose bark and moist decaying vegetation most of the time. These roaches are most common found in the south but has been found in humid places in the north. They feed on plant materials but have been known to feed on starchy materials in the home.
In most situations the best treatment strategy is a good outside barrier with coarse granular bait such as Triad/Niban. This is applied around the perimeter of the outside. This product can be used in the attic as well.
BROWN COCKROACHES also resembles the American roach but differs in that it has a broader body and less distinct markings. They are mostly found in the south from Florida to Texas. Infestations can occur indoors and outdoors. They are commonly found around trees, under bark, in sewers, crawl spaces and similar places.

FOR ROACHES SUCH AS WOODS COCKROACH, FIELD COCKROACH, WHITE ROACHES, OR ANY OTHERS CAN BE ALSO TREATED SIMILAR TO THE PRESCRIBED METHODS ABOVE.
